Founded in 2011, Grassroots Kitchen & Tap is a family-owned and operated restaurant with locations in both Scottsdale and Phoenix. Serving lunch and dinner daily, Grassroots tempts with a from-scratch menu of classic Southern-influenced American cuisine, polished service-first style and friends and family-focused vibe. Putting the 'Tap' in Grassroots Kitchen & Tap, enjoy an extensive menu of craft beers and wines (both available on tap) and signature cocktails - all served in a distinctive rustic-yet-modern atmosphere highlighted by colorful Americana artwork and expansive dining patios. Plus, don't miss our daily Social Hour from 3-6 pm.


Christopher Collins

Grassroots Kitchen & Tap Chef/Owner, Christopher Collins is a fourth generation restaurateur and founder of Common Ground Culinary, which now include Grassroots, Wally's American Pub N' Grille, Twisted Grove Parlor & Bar. After graduating from Boston University with a degree in hospitality management, Collins was recruited right out of school to join Hillstone Restaurant Group’s famed management program. “That was my finishing school, where I learned the restaurant business from top to bottom, food to equipment,” Collins says. “I was inspired by my experience at Hillstone, combined with my father’s hands-on approach and local focus (knowing the names of all your customers, caring about the product personally) to create Common Ground Culinary. It’s all about soul. A restaurant is not just a building.” Collins lives in Phoenix with his wife Melissa and their young son, Christopher “Topher” Collins Jr.

Grassroots Kitchen & Tap in Scottsdale can host a variety of semi-private and private dining events at its sister restaurant, Twisted Grove, in the same shopping center.  Twisted Grove features a fully private indoor dining space seating up to 28 people, as well as a covered outdoor private patio seating up to 64 guests. Furthermore, there is a secondary private patio that can be paired with the indoor dining room to provide a pre-event cocktail reception space.  Grassroots' full menu is available.


Grassroots Kitchen & Tap in Phoenix offers a fully private, covered patio seating up to 22 people.

Welcome to our little Country Store, where we pack up some of our favorite house-made provisions for you to take home. Available inside our restaurants, or at your favorite local farmer’s market, Common Ground Provisions offers a wide variety of gourmet foodstuffs sure to please any pantry, including whole roasted chickens, housemade burrata and our famous key lime pie. Meanwhile, at-home chefs will love handmade goodies such as our spicy tomato jam, house dressing, blue cheese-stuffed olives and our signature Topher’s Steak Seasoning.



Coming soon to the Grassroots and Twisted Grove parking lot on the Northwest corner of Hayden & Via De Ventura Road, the Common Ground Market will unfurl a showcase of exceptional local provisions, fresh-market produce, and community-centric wares.
